Summer Check-In: Caleya Tereska - Muhlenberg College Athletics

Muhlenberg athletes are spending the summer of 2022 enjoying fantastic experiences on campus, in their hometowns, across the country and even around the world.

Senior volleyball player and Bethlehem native Caleya Tereska is staying close to home as an intern with B. Braun Medical Inc.

This summer, I’ve had the opportunity to work as an intern in the regulatory affairs department at B. Braun Medical Inc., which manufactures drugs and medical devices to provide to hospitals for patients in need.

My department focused on the pharmaceutical side and worked closely with the medical affairs team. We received reports of adverse drug reactions and experiences that are reported and further compiled the data to submit to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration so that this information can be reviewed to ensure patient safety. As the regulatory affairs intern, I ensured that the product labeling that was posted on the FDA’s website was correct.

My favorite aspect of the internship was that I worked at three different locations within the Lehigh Valley. This allowed me the opportunity to meet other employees while also learning about a wide variety of different projects and departments that are a part of B. Braun.

This internship opened my eyes to the difference between working remotely and in the office. Working in the office allowed me the opportunity to form connections and network with other employees. Stimulating conversations with colleagues broadened my scope of the company and its significance that could otherwise be unknown.

I would like to thank Ryan Smolko in the Muhlenberg Career Center for helping me with my resume. He has helped tremendously in areas ranging from the initial job search to the interview process. There’s an endless amount of resources at the Career Center, so I would highly recommend taking advantage of the opportunity.

I have an interest in pharmaceutical sales, but I am open to other experiences within the biology field. My current internship explores the different reactions that can happen with an associated drug. It is essential to know how drugs can both positively and negatively affect the body.
