LEXINGTON – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2021-2022 Team Academic Awards on Monday, with Taylor joining more than 1,000 collegiate and high school volleyball teams from around the nation to receive the honor.
The award is given to any volleyball team that maintains a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale, or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.
Taylor was one of 57 NAIA women’s volleyball programs to earn AVCA Team Academic attention, after posting a combined team GPA of 3.44 during the 2021-2022 year.
In addition to the excellent work in the classroom, TU had plenty of on-court success as well, going 27-7 during the 2021 campaign with a 14-4 Crossroads League clip. Those marks gave the Trojans their highest single-season win total and best league record since 2011.
