Tennessee Athletics Announces Fifth Annual Salute to Service Slate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – For the fifth consecutive year, Tennessee Athletics proudly announces its plans for Salute to Service during select competitions throughout the month of November.

 

Typically a week-long celebration, UT has decided to extend the length of the event for Tennessee’s ultimate Volunteers. Running from Nov. 10-25, this year’s Salute to Service will include special recognitions, ceremonies, celebrations and opportunities for veteran and military families to attend a football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and volleyball game free of charge (additional details provided below).

 

Since the introduction of the recognition in 2018, Tennessee Athletics has welcomed thousands of military and veterans from across the southeast to numerous athletics events as part of Salute to Service Week.

 

Salute to Service Games


Friday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m. ET – Volleyball vs. Georgia

Sunday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. ET – Volleyball vs. Ole Miss

Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. ET – Men’s Basketball vs. Wofford

Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. ET – Women’s Basketball vs. Troy

Saturday, Nov. 25, at TBD – Football vs. Vanderbilt

 

Football


Local and state veteran, military and first-responder organizations that Tennessee Athletics has identified as longstanding partners will be invited to attend the Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt football game on Saturday, Nov. 25.

 

The Pride of the Southland Marching Band will perform a special halftime show dedicated to Veterans. Plans for a pregame flyover are in the works but are dependent on weather conditions and other factors.

 

The Vol Walk also will be led by representation from each of the five military branches.

During Salute to Service, current military members, veterans and first responders may present a military ID, DD 214, license certification, state-issued ID, badge or other employer-issued identification at ticket locations outside of Food City Center for complimentary admission to the designated men’s basketball and/or women’s basketball games for you and your immediate family (limit of 4 to 6, based on…
