STONY BROOK, NY — Maryland volleyball (4-2) fell to the South Florida Bulls (3-2) in five sets on Saturday morning to finish the Stony Brook Invitational.
After narrowly dropping the first set, the Terps rallied to dominate the second set 25-12. The Terps finished the set on a 15-4 run, with a definitive 9-0 run to close it out.
Maryland’s mojo continued into the third set where they jumped out to an early 5-1 lead. Ultimately, the Terps would take home the set by a score of 25-20.
Eventually, the Bulls came storming back to take the final two sets.
Sam Csire led the way with nine kills while Rainelle Jones contributed nine blocks.
Sydney Dowler and Laila Ricks earned spots on the All-Tournament Team as Maryland representatives.
