Terps Hit Court for Red-White Scrimmage

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland volleyball team begins the 2022 season on Saturday, August 20 at 6 p.m. with the program’s annual Red-White scrimmage in the XFINITY Center Pavilion.

Fan’s first opportunity to see the 2022 squad, the Terps are coming off of one of their seasons in recent program history.  The 2021 Terps earned 19 victories, the most since 2010 for the program while Maryland’s undefeated 13-0 start was the team’s best beginning since 2005. Their seven Big Ten victories were the most for the program since 2018.

The newest Terps include two freshmen (Laila Ivey and Ally Williams) alongside two transfers (Anastasia Russ and Gem Grimshaw). Plus, the team features returning starters Sydney Dowler, Laila Ricks, Sam Csire, Milan Gomillion, and Rainelle Jones. Jones was named Preseason All-Big Ten while Gomillion joined her on Big Ten Network’s “Top 20”.
