Manama, Bahrain, July 30, 2024 – Thailand completed a clean sweep of their Pool A matches in the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship at Isa Sport City Hall C here as they managed a 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-19) shutout of Hong Kong, China on Tuesday.
Thailand put in a strong performance in the match and were aggressive from the first ball. They never wavered over the remainder of the contest as they posted their third straight win to wrap up the preliminary round in style.
Sorasak Phunsanong had 14 points to spearhead the Thais, while Jirayu Simtama added 11.
Ching Kin Ko scored 21 points in the loss of Hong Kong, China, which have been eliminated from further title contention after suffering their second successive loss. Hong Kong, China sealed an opening-day, five-set victory against hosts Bahrain, but they could not keep up their winning ways in their ensuing matches.
