Three Lewis Women's Volleyball Players Named Academic All-District


ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — Three Lewis University women’s volleyball student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators 2022 Academic All-District team. Ally Hickey (Granger, Ind./Penn), Bella Ray (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic) and Juliana Van Loo (Burbank, Calif./John Burroughs) were all awarded with this honor.

To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must have played in at least half of the team’s matches and carries a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average and is at least a sophomore.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December.  The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.

Hickey is a business analytics major who saw action in 16 matches for Lewis this season and recorded 149 digs.

Ray is a middle level education major who saw action in all 31 matches while leading the teams in kills (361), hitting percentage (.288) and total blocks (155). Ray was also named All-Great Lakes Valley Conference First Team honors.

Van Loo is a biology major who saw the court in 29 matches for the Flyers this season. The junior was third on the team in kills (324), second in hitting percentage (.284) and fourth in blocks (63) which led her to All-GLVC First Team honors.
