STANFORD, Calif. – No. 6 Stanford closed out the regular season with its 10th ranked win, topping No. 3 Louisville, 25-23, 25-22, 27-29, 27-25, on Senior Day at Maples Pavilion.
Stanford (25-4) finishes its inaugural ACC season with a 17-3 mark in conference play, tying with Louisville (25-5) for second place. The Cardinal improves to 12-0 at Maples Pavilion this season.
Setter Kami Miner guided the Cardinal offense to a .273 clip, matching her career-high with 60 assists. Among them was the 5,000th assist of her career, making her the fifth player in program history to hit that milestone. She is currently tied for third all-time with Madi Bugg at 5,014.
Miner also collected 15 digs for her team-best 16th double-double of the year to go with five blocks, four kills and an ace. Fifth-year libero Elena Oglive turned in a season-high 24 digs to anchor the defense, including the 2,000th of her career.
As a team, Stanford recorded a season-high 69 kills to go with 66 digs, 12.0 blocks and two aces. Louisville was held to .255 hitting and posted 57 kills, 61 digs, 10.0 blocks and three aces.
Junior Elia Rubin led Stanford offensively with a season-high 22 kills on .326 hitting and had 14 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Opposite Jordyn Harvey registered a career-high 18 kills on a .302 attack percentage to go with two blocks and an ace.
Senior middle blocker Sami Francis racked up a match-high nine blocks, including three solo, to go with 10 kills and two digs. Outside hitter Ipar Kurt chipped in with 10 kills, two digs and a block, while freshman middle blocker Lizzy Andrew hit .455 with five kills on 11 errorless swings with two blocks.
Louisville was led by outside hitter Anna DeBeer’s 16 kills on .350 hitting, 14 digs and two blocks, while outside hitter Charitie Luper 14 kills, nine digs and an ace. Stanford is now 2-2 all-time against Louisville.
The Cardinal recognized its five seniors, Francis, Miner, Oglivie, Taylor Beaven and Charity McDowell, with a postmatch ceremony.
