The event in Doha showcases elite beach volleyball talent, featuring headliners such as Olympic silver medallists Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler, alongside Beach Pro Tour stars.
The Queen & King of the Court Finals are set to light up the Aspire Zone in Doha from December 12-14, featuring the world’s best beach volleyball pairs. This annual event showcases a distinctive format with five teams per gender competing across three rounds to earn the coveted titles of Queen and King of the Court.
Initially launched in 2017 in Utrecht, Netherlands, the tournament has expanded into a full-fledged tour, culminating its 2024 season with intense matches set against a vibrant festival backdrop, complete with live music and entertainment.
Sportworx, in collaboration with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), created the format, which made its first international appearance in the Dutch city and has since drawn an audience with its innovative approach to the discipline.

This year’s Finals will highlight top-tier teams that have emerged through a packed schedule of Queen & King of the Court events, including stops in Tenerife, Hamburg, Utrecht and Miami Beach, and showcases in Lillesand and London. Alongside the top five ranked teams from each gender category, five wildcard teams will compete, representing a total of 17 nations.
The player roster features Germany’s Paris silver medallists Nils Ehlers & Clemens Wickler, reigning Kings of the Court in Doha. England’s sibling duo Javier & Joaquin Bello, last year’s bronze medallists, are among the top contenders, as well as Dutch pair Stefan Boermans & Yorick de Groot.
In the women’s event, European champions Svenja Müller & Cinja Tillmann of Germany are top picks for the crown, with last year’s champions Katja Stam & Raisa Schoon competing this year with new partners Wies Bekhuis and Daniela Alvarez, respectively.
This year’s event includes a qualification tournament for teams from the Western Asia Zonal Association to promote volleyball in the Middle East.
Admission to the venue is free, but fans can also experience all the action on TV, with the Finals being broadcast in over 90 countries worldwide, thus bringing the excitement of Queen & King of the Court directly to fans around the world.
