U-M Sweeps Bowling Green to Finish off Undefeated Run at Michigan Challenge

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan volleyball team rolled to a sweep of Bowling Green (25-17, 25-20, 25-22) on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 18) at Crisler Center. With the win, the Wolverines ended the Michigan Challenge with a 2-0 record and a third consecutive victory.

Offensively, Jess Mruzik led all players with 13 kills, and Jess Robinson hit .529 for the match. Defensively, Hannah Grant recorded 14 digs, while Robinson posted seven blocks. Scottee Johnson paced the Wolverines in assists with 18, and Maddie Dowd contributed 12.

The first set was all Robinson — who hit .625, recorded five kills and added two blocks. Collectively, Michigan hit at a .448 clip with 16 kills. At the end of the set, Johnson and Kendall Murray served the Wolverines to a 25-17 victory.

The second set saw three lead changes and eight ties. Michigan received another 16-kill performance, aided by Mruzik’s six. Jacque Boney and May Pertofsky were a force at the net, collecting two blocks apiece. In the middle of the set, with Grant at the service…
