UCLA Downs Utes with Explosive Final Three Sets

SALT LAKE CITY – The UCLA women’s volleyball team hit for a collective .363 rate to defeat Utah in four sets at the Jon M. Huntsman Center Friday night. With the victory, the Bruins (12-9, 4-7) even the season series versus the Utes (9-12, 4-7).
 
Set scores were 20-25, 25-18, 25-22 and 25-13.
 
The .363 hitting percentage was UCLA’s third highest mark of the season and second of highest of Pac-12 Conference play. The Bruins hit .364 two matches ago versus Washington on Oct. 20.
 
UCLA corrected its slow start from its set one loss, jumping out to insurmountable leads in the beginning of the remaining three sets to cruise to victory.
 
Senior outside hitter Iman Ndiaye scored a match-high 15.0 points on 13 kills (.345%) and four block assists. Anna Dodson set a new career high in block assists with nine. Setter Audrey Pak filled up the stat sheet with a career-high 44 assists, six block assists, three digs and two dump kills.
 
Pak highlighted the beginning of what was a brilliant UCLA serving stretch in set four. She opened a 4-0 run at the service line with an ace early on to help the Bruins break out to an 8-4 lead.
