LEXINGTON, Ky. – USC beach volleyball seniors Audrey Nourse (Newport Beach, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) and Nicole Nourse (Newport Beach, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) were named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/CollegeBeachVB.com National Pair of the Week on Monday, May 8.
The incredible twin duo went 4-0 at the NCAA championship this week in Gulf Shores, Ala., to help USC secure its third straight national title; sixth all-time. The sisters finished the season on an eight-match win streak with victories at the No. 3 position over No. 13 Georgia State’s Kelly Dorn and Elise Saga (21-18. 21-18); No. 5 Loyola Marymount’s Jacinda Ramirez and Isabelle Reffel (21-19, 16-21, 15-10); No. 2 TCU’s Hailey Hamlett and Sutton MacTavish (21-15, 29-27); and No. 1 UCLA’s Haley Hallgren and Rileigh Powers (21-18, 19-21, 15-11).
Nourse and Nourse were honored with a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament Team representing the No. 3 flight. They were also honored on the all-tournament team in 2022 from the No. 4 position.
The two Trojans complete their senior seasons with a 29-6 overall record and improved to 91-16 all-time. Their 91 wins as a pair match the second-highest total held by a Trojan tandem, equaling a mark set by Nicolette Martin and Allie Wheeler (2014-16).
This week, USC (32-5) entered the NCAA championship as the No. 3 seed and went on a 4-0 run in Gulf Shores to collect the program’s sixth national championship and third-straight NCAA crown. The Trojans defied odds with wins over the No. 2-ranked Horned Frogs and the top-ranked Bruins, both in thrilling 3-2 finishes.
