COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four-time USC men’s volleyball All-American setterΒ Micah ChristensonΒ (Honolulu, Hawai’i) earned a spot on the U.S. National Team roster to compete in the Olympic Games for the third time in his career (announced May 10) and all-conference middle blockerΒ Andy BeneshΒ (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) was chosen to the U.S. Olympic Beach Volleyball National Team on Monday, June 10.Β

Christenson won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and was also a member of the U.S. men’s national team in Tokyo for the 2021 Games. Benesh is a first-time Olympian. He and partner Miles Partain are the ninth-ranked men’s pair in the world and have won four tournaments together including two FIVB events.

The 2024 Paris Games will run from July 26 through August 11. Indoor volleyball matches will be played at the South Paris Arena, which will also host the handball, table tennis, and weightlifting competitions. Beach volleyball will play under the shadow of the Eiffel Tower in the Eiffel Tower Stadium.

The Trojans were 13-15 in the regular season and finished sixth in the MPSF standings (3-9). In the postseason, USC advanced to the MPSF tournament semifinal where it fell to league runner-up UCLA. The Trojans earned six wins over ranked opponents and ninth-year head coachΒ Jeff NygaardΒ reached 100-career victories.
