PARIS, FRANCE — USC athletes hit the track and field for the first time in Paris today on the eighth day of competition for Trojan Olympians. Two-time Olympian TeeTee Terry started off strong in winning her 100m heat in the opening round to advance to tomorrow’s semifinals in athletics, and Nicole Yeargin helped Great Britain set a national record in the mixed 4x400m relay heats. Meanwhile, in the pool, Australia’s Tilly Kearns scored her first goal in Paris to help the Aussies ensure a spot in the quarterfinals. So, too, did a trio of Trojans — Emily Ausmus, Kaleigh Gilchrist and Amanda Longan — have a hand in Team USA’s third win of group play to secure a quarterfinal slot. Also locking up advancement today was beach volleyball pair Kelly Cheng and Sarah Hughes (USA) and men’s indoor volleyball with Trojan Micah Christenson setting up Team USA for success. See below for full results and statistics for USC athletes in Paris today.
