PARIS, FRANCE — USC’s first medal in Paris went to track Trojan Nicole Yeargin with Great Britain in the mixed 4×400 relay. Yeargin had anchored Great Britain’s preliminary relay race in a national-record time yesterday, and her teammates raced to a third-place finish in today’s final to earn a bronze medal for the Great Britain team. It’s Yeargin’s first Olympic medal and the 77th bronze medal in history for USC. The Trojan men’s water polo contingent representing Australia, Greece and the United States have all ensured tickets to quarterfinal rounds, with U.S. Trojan Hannes Daube going big today with a five-goal outburst to help Team USA beat Montenegro 12-7 today for a key second win in group play. Also collecting a clutch victory today was Latvia’s Tina Graudina, who won her beach volleyball match to advance to the Round of 16. It was a busy day on the track and in the pool for many Trojans today in Paris. See below for full results and statistics for USC athletes in Paris today.
