TEMPE, Ariz. – Utah Beach Volleyball ended their season in the second consolation round of the Pac-12 Tournament against the #12 University of Washington Huskies. The Utes lost their second match of the double-elimination tournament to Washington, 3-0.
Utah would put up a fight on the fifth court, coming from the new duo of Gwen Fife and Milan Ray, pushing their match to three sets. The Utah pairing would take the first set from Washington 21-18, before dropping the final two 21-10, 15-10. As the match would be played to a decision, it would be a race for the next courts to finish. On the third court, Chloe Narancich and Lauren Sayre would go down in straight sets, 21-15, 21-9. With the second wave taking their places, the next court to finish would be the deciding factor of the match. On the second court, Rylee Johnson and Bella Vezzani dropped their match in two sets, 21-13, 21-8.
It was a year of milestones for the Utah Beach Volleyball team, as the Utes put together their longest win streak in program history, with six wins in a row, including four straight at their home weekend. Throughout the season, Utah secured six wins by way of a 5-0 court sweep. In just its third season with a fully beach-recruited roster, the Utes set a new season-high wins mark nearly hitting the 20-win benchmark with an overall record of 19-16.
