SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah head volleyball coach Beth Launiere has added a pair of California natives to the roster ahead of the 2024 season. The Utes welcome sophomore libero/defensive specialist Grace Moss from California State University Bakersfield and incoming freshman setter Isabelle Marco from Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton, Calif.

Moss appeared in 29 of 30 matches for the Roadrunners in her first season. She tallied 357 total digs in 109 sets played. She amassed a career-high 22 digs, just 12 matches into the season, in a five-set match against Fresno State. Moss posted double-digit digs in 20 matches throughout her freshman campaign, finishing in the top 10 in digs in the Big West.
“We couldn’t be more excited to add Grace to our program. She is a tremendous athlete who loves to work hard and compete,” said coach Launiere. “She comes strongly recommended as a person with high character and a tremendous person and teammate. We knew Grace was someone that would fit into the culture of our program and would make an impact because of these qualities.”
Moss attended Santa Margarita High School where she was named first-team all-league during her senior season. She played her club volleyball for Mizuno Long Beach, posting a top 12 finish in the open division and junior nationals. Moss graduated with honors, finishing each year with a 4.0 or above. She earned the Christian Eagle Award and was a four-time scholar-athlete recipient.
Her hobbies include boxing, surfing, skiing, and going to the beach.
Moss’ mother Jennifer is a graduate of Chapman University. Father Jim is a graduate of the University of Lavern where he played football.

While at Sacred Heart Prep, Marco collected first-team all-league honors in 2021, 2022, and 2023. She was named Foothill Division MVP in 2022.
“Izzy comes to us as both a great athlete and setter,” said coach Launiere. “She is a tremendous leader as well which is a wonderful skill to have in the setting position. We couldn’t be more excited to add Izzy to our Utah Volleyball Family and for her to have an immediate impact on our program.”
Marco finished her final high school season leading Sacred Heart Prep with 304 assists, while also averaging 4.7 kills per set to lead the team with 430 kills. She ranked second in…
