CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – A total of 11 Virginia volleyball players were named to the 2023 All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team, the conference office announced Tuesday (Jan. 31). It marks the second consecutive year the Cavalier program had double-digit student-athletes receive the honor.
Virginia players recognized were GG Carvacho, Milan Gomillion, Ciera Hecht, Kate Johnson, Ashley Le, Madison Morey, Abby Tadder, Regan Trueblood, Heyli Velasquez, Chloe Wilson and Veresia Yon.
Carvacho, Johnson, Le, Morey, Tadder, Velasquez, Wilson and Yon were all recognized for the second consecutive year.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
