Volleyball Adds Another Transfer for 2025

PULLMAN, Wash. (January 6, 2025) – Washington State Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Korey Schroeder and the staff have announced the addition of Mary Healy, an outside hitter who transfers in from North Carolina State, and will be a redshirt sophomore in 2025.

Mary Healy | 6-3 | OH | San Rafael, California (San Rafael HS)

Healy is an outside hitter who transfers to the Palouse from NC State where she has spent the two years, while also playing for the Canadian National Team.

This past summer she competed with the Canada National U21 Team at the NORCECA Continental Championship in Toronto where they finished in fourth place. Her biggest game came in a 3-0 sweep over the Virgin Islands where she finished with a personal-best 17 points behind 12 kills and five service aces.

Prior to NC State she was a member of the Canada U19 Team. In May of 2023 she represented Canada at the U19 Pan American Cup where she averaged eight points per match and had her best match with 12 points against the Dominican Republic. Then in August of 2023, she represented the country in the Girls U19 World Championship where she averaged 8.25 points per match and put up 14 points against Chile.

Before that she played at San Rafael High School in California where in 2021 she was named Second Team All-Marin County Athletic League, and also earned the Fight Strength Unity Award and Bulldog Sailing Trophy. In 2020, she was named the team MVP. Healy also competed in basketball and lacrosse in high school.

Coach Schroeder on Mary Healy: “Our entire staff has really enjoyed our conversations with Mary and she’s been easy to connect with. Something that stood out to me about Mary are her goals and aspirations not just in volleyball, but in life. She brings with her a lot of international experience and has competed against some of the best players her age in the world.”
