Volleyball Adds Transfer Amanda DeWitt


TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona volleyball head coach Charita Stubbs has announced the addition of Amanda DeWitt, a transfer from South Florida. DeWitt will join Carlie Cisneros, Adrianna Bridges, Avery Scoggins, Brenna Ginder, and An den Hamer in the fall.

  • Played at South Florida for three seasons
  • Played in 70 matches and totaled 545 kills and 122 total blocks
  • Averaged 2.10 kills/set during her three seasons at USF
  • Had 15 matches with double-digit kills at USF
  • Three-time AAC Academic Honor Roll recipient
  • Was a Palm Beach County All-District honoree in high school
  • Named the Palm Beach County Player of the Year in high school

 
Amanda says: “I chose Arizona because I was excited about the coaching staff and what they brought to the table. I believe that they will be able to maintain a strong culture while winning games. Joining the Big 12 will allow for strong volleyball competition. The campus and Tucson area is beautiful, and I can tell that they garner a lot of support from their community. On the flip side of that, the team upholds their social responsibility to give back to the community. I am excited to be a part of the Wildcat Family!”
 
Coach Stubbs says: “Amanda is an athletic player that has the ability to come in and give depth to the pin position. She is a driven and hard worker and will fit right in with our team. We are so excited to welcome her to Tucson.”
