The Muhlenberg volleyball team faltered after a strong start and fell at Rowan, 3-1.

The Mules (1-2) scored the first four points of the match and led the entire first set, winning 25-23. It was 24-20 before the Owls ran off three straight points, but freshman Christina Marcin ended the comeback, and the set, with one of her 10 kills.

Muhlenberg hit .314 in the first set, making only four attack errors. Sophomore Esmae Oehler recorded 7 of her 12 kills in the opening set.

Rowan (5-0) won the next two sets, 25-17 and 25-18, and held a 23-13 lead in the fourth before the Mules made a late push. They closed to within 24-19 before the Owls finally secured the match.

Senior Emma Eglinton (pictured above) notched her third straight double-double to open the season with 32 assists and 10 digs. Junior Alyssa Faville led the defense with 17 digs.
