Volleyball Falls to No. 12 Tennessee Wednesday, 3-0

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama fell in three sets to 12th-ranked Tennessee Wednesday night in Foster Auditorium, as the Lady Vols defeated the Crimson Tide by set scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-18.

After Alabama (10-5, 0-4 SEC) fell by double digits in the opening set to Tennessee (14-1, 5-0 SEC), the Crimson Tide bounced back and held a lead through the majority of set two. With the score 21-17, the Lady Vols fought back to move back ahead late at 23-22 before winning the two-point decision. Alabama drew within three points in the closing moments of the third before Tennessee put it away with four straight to close out the match.

“I’m not happy with the result but I’m pleased with the fight of our team. We are getting better every game. In a tense game like tonight, you just have to keep giving them constant reminders and talk to them about the mission and what their goals and jobs are. You only have a few seconds to have those conversations, so you just have to constantly talk them through those moments.”
