Volleyball Finalizes Non-Conference Slate - University of Maryland Athletics


COLLEGE PARK, MDThe University of Maryland volleyball team has finalized its 2024 schedule with the announcement of its non-conference slate Tuesday morning. In addition to the 20 Big Ten matchups, the Terps will compete in four tournaments with 11 non-conference matches to kick off the 2024 campaign.
 
The early season tournaments will feature a three-game road trip to Louisiana along with two tournaments played at Maryland on back-to-back weekends. They will close the non-conference slate In non-conference play, Maryland will host five games at the XFINITY Center Pavilion.
 
To begin the season, Maryland will travel to Baton Rouge, LA for a tournament hosted by LSU, where they will face Troy in the season opener on Aug. 30, followed by a showdown with the Tigers. The following day, the Terps will take on New Hampshire.

The Terps will compete in three matches over Labor Day Weekend. They host their home opener against Alabama A&M on Sept. 6 followed by a battle at American on Sept. 7. Maryland closes the holiday weekend on Sunday, Sept. 8 with a contest with North Texas in College Park.

 

Maryland will host its second weekend of non-conference play starting Sept. 13 when they take on Lehigh. The Terps will return to the Pavilion on Sunday for a battle with UMBC. They will then host their first midweek game of the season against Delaware State on Sept. 18. 

 

Maryland’s non-conference schedule will come to a close with a tournament at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. The tournament will consist of matches against Nevada and UCF on Sept. 20 and 21, respectively. 

 

In 2023, the Terps wrapped up non-conference competition with a 10-2 record, continuing its 12-year streak of finishing non-conference play with a winning record which dates back to 2012.
