Volleyball Heads to Arkansas for Final Road Trip of the Season


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama volleyball makes its final road trip of the season this weekend, heading to Fayetteville, Ark., for a pair of matches against Arkansas. The Crimson Tide and Razorbacks face off on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 12 p.m. CT and Sunday, Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. CT.

This Weekend: at Arkansas

Scouting Alabama

  • Alabama hits the road for the final time this season, traveling to Fayetteville for a pair of matches at Arkansas on Saturday at 12 p.m. CT and Sunday at 3 p.m. CT
  • Last week, the Crimson Tide split a pair of home contests against South Carolina, rebounding from a Friday loss with a three-set sweep on Saturday
  • The Tide leads the SEC with 178 aces, while Abby Marjama leads the league and is fifth nationally with 61
  • Alabama returns 14 players from last year’s squad, including seniors Taylor Drapp, Emily Janek, Dru Kuck, Katie Shook and Alyiah Wells and fifth-year senior Marjama

Last Time out: vs. South Carolina

  • Alabama split a pair of matches against South Carolina last weekend in Tuscaloosa, falling in three sets on Friday before rebounding with a sweep on Saturday
  • The three-set win was the Tide’s fourth sweep of the season and second in SEC play
  • It was Alabama’s first win over the Gamecocks in Tuscaloosa since 2017
  • Saturday’s win also marked the first time the Tide won a rematch against a team it previously lost to that same season since 2017

Alabama Aces

  • Alabama leads the SEC in service aces (178) and aces-per-set (1.84)
  • Individually, Abby Marjama leads the individual rankings with 61 (0.66/set), which is 25 more than the next-highest total
  • Marjama is one of just eight players nationally with over 60 aces and one of eight averaging over 0.60 per set
  • Marjama is fifth nationally in total aces and sixth in aces-per-set

SEC Leaders

  • In addition to Abby Marjama leading the league in aces, Emily Janek is ranked seventh in the SEC in assists (447, 9.12/set) and Alyiah Wells is ranked ninth in hitting percentage (.335)
  • In conference games, Janek is ranked in the top 10 in assists (7th – 343, 9.27/set) and digs (8th – 123, 3.32/set)
