Volleyball Inks Pair of Transfers for 2025

PULLMAN, Wash. (December 20, 2024) – Washington State Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Korey Schroeder and the staff have announced the addition of two new Cougars on Friday.

Krista Dooley is an opposite hitter who transfers in from Rutgers, and will be a redshirt sophomore in 2025, along with Tinons Galmés, a libero from Florida A&M who will be a sophomore next season.

Krista Dooley | 6-2 | Opp. | Plano, Texas (Plano East Senior HS)

Dooley is an opposite who transfers to the Palouse from Rutgers where she most recently played her redshirt freshman season, appearing in 30 sets over 15 matches and totaling 20 kills, nine digs and 10 blocks. Prior to Rutgers she played at Plano East Senior High School, and for the club team Dallas Skyline, and was on the 2022 JVA Watch List.

Coach Schroeder on Krista Dooley: “Krista brings height, length, and a physical block to our roster. It can be hard getting to know people during this transfer window, but Krista made talking with her easy. She’s intelligent, a team player, and we could tell she wanted to be at Washington State. I’m excited to have Krista with us all spring as we prepare for the 2025 season.”

Tinons Galmés | 5-7 | L | Illes Balears, Spain (IES Antonio Machado)

Galmés is a libero coming to WSU from Florida A&M where she was a freshman libero this past season, playing in 31 matches and 103 sets while leading the team with 434 digs and 4.21 digs per set. She also totaled 88 assists and 36 service aces and averaged 0.85 assists and 0.35 aces per set. Prior to Florida A&M, Galmés played with the Spanish national team, and was the best libero in WEVZA U-18 with 417 digs in 92 sets played.

Coach Schroeder on Tinons Galmés: “Tinons is a high-level passer which is obviously the best skill you can have as a libero. She put up some impressive numbers last season, often serve receiving with only one other passer next to her. She held her own against Nebraska in the NCAA Tournament and she’ll only get better in future years. Tinons made it clear she is driven not only to succeed in college, but professionally and with her National Team as well.”
