COLLEGE PARK, MD — The University of Maryland volleyball returns to College Park for its home opener against Alabama A&M on Friday, September 6. The Terps will then take a short trip to Washington D.C. to face American on Saturday, September 7. They close the weekend against North Texas on Sunday, September 8.

First serve for Friday’s game is slated for 7 p.m. while Saturday’s showdown will begin at 5 p.m. The matchup between Maryland and North Texas is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday and Sunday’s matches will air on B1G+, while Saturday’s contest will be on ESPN+.

  • Head coach Adam Hughes and the Terps are looking to make a dent in non-conference play with strong opponents across an 11-game slate. Maryland has built a consistent conference record the last few seasons. They are eager to break into the next level of play while navigating the new landscape of the Big Ten with the addition of four new, high-level programs.
  • The Terps are facing a familiar foe in American on Saturday. Maryland owns a 16-0 all-time record over the Eagles. It’s been over a decade since these programs last met, with Maryland taking a 3-0 victory over American in 2012.
  • Maryland is meeting Alabama A&M and North Texas for the first time in program history.

  • Maryland sits 1-2 through its first three matches. The Terps took a 3-0 win over Troy last Friday, but dropped contests against LSU and New Hampshire following the opening victory.
  • Sam Csire leads the Terps in kills per set with 3.42 after three matches. The fifth-year tallied a season-high 20 against New Hampshire.
