Volleyball Secures SEC Road Win Over Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Three Tigers finished in double-figures attacking as the University of Missouri volleyball team (10-5, 2-2 SEC) edged Texas A&M (10-4, 2-2 SEC), 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21) Sunday afternoon at Reed Arena.

Colleyville, Texas, native, Janet deMarrais paced Mizzou with a career-best 18 kills and eight digs competing in her home state for the first time as a student-athlete. It marked the sophomore outside hitter’s fifth-straight double-digit kill outing (sixth in 2023).

Jordan Iliff chipped in a double-double of 16 kills and 14 digs on a .270 hitting percentage to go with six blocks and two aces. Dilara Gedikoglu finished with 10 kills, eight digs and an ace.

With the win, Mizzou tied its SEC win total from the past two seasons (2021 and 2022). The victory also marked the Tigers first double-digit win season since 2020 (16-8, 15-7 SEC).

LOOKING AHEAD

  • Mizzou next continues SEC play, as the Tigers return home to host Kentucky at the Hearnes Center (6:30 p.m., CT) on Friday, Oct. 6.
  • The match against the Wildcats will be streamed on SEC Network+.
  • Oct. 6 is Alumni Night and Mental Health Awareness Night. The Tigers will recognize the 2013 SEC Championship team for their 20th anniversary.
  • Fans in attendance will receive Koozies and Rally Towels, while supplies last.
