Volleyball unveils full 2023 schedule, 10 network matches announced


PULLMAN, Wash. Washington State volleyball’s path to an eighth-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance was announced Thursday as Pac-12 league office officially unveiled its 2023 conference schedule which has WSU slated for 10 network matches this fall. The Cougars also released a fall non-conference schedule that features six NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago including both teams to reach last season’s Division I National Championship, Louisville and Texas.

 

Washington State is set to face a total of four teams  No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Louisville, No. 6 Stanford, and No. 7 Oregon to finish 2022 inside the top-10 of the final AVCA Coaches’ Poll and will host a pair of home tournaments highlighted by a Sept. 8 matchup with BYU.

 

The Cougars open the fall campaign with the first trip in program history to Louisville, Ky., where they begin the season on Friday, Aug. 25, against Wright State, the first of six NCAA Tournament teams from last season on the 2023 schedule. The Cougs will see an early-season, elite test against national runner-up from last year, Louisville, on Saturday, Aug. 26. 

 

New renovations to Bohler Gym including the brand new, Teraflex playing surface on Marcia Saneholtz Court, will see its first match action in the Cougars’ home opener on Friday, Sept. 1, against Northwestern State. The Cougs then host a second tournament inside Bohler the following weekend, Sept. 6-8, which is highlighted by a Friday night matchup against BYU on Friday night.

 

Non-conference play for Washington State will wrap up with a road trip to Baylor and Texas, respectively, before WSU returns to Bohler Gym for its 2023 conference opener against Apple Cup rival, Washington on Thursday, Sept. 21, airing on Pac-12 Washington.



With the addition of three signings earlier this summer,
Head Coach Jen Greeny and Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Burdette Greeny announced the some of the final pieces to their fall 2023 roster.
