The sophomore earns Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Martin becomes the first Gator in program history to earn a share of the SEC Offensive Player of the Week award for five-consecutive weeks, and is the only player to receive the honor five times in a single season.
The Fort Mill, S.C. native reset Florida’s individual single-match kill record after registering a career-high 32 kills on 60 attempts, while hitting .450 in the Gators 3-2 road win against the Tigers. She also contributed a career-high 34.0 points, six digs, two blocks, one assist and one ace in Florida’s only match of the week.
Playing in just 72 percent of Florida’s 88 sets, she currently ranks second in the nation for points per set (6.01) and third for kills for set (5.29). In SEC matches alone, her 6.28 points per set and 5.56 kills per set rank No. 1, while her 0.46 aces per set sits third and .370 hitting clip ranks eighth. Furthermore, she has recorded double-digit kills in every match played wearing the Orange and Blue (46 matches).
Martin has now accumulated two SEC Player of the Week and five Offensive Player of the Week awards this season. Additionally, the sophomore was named AVCA’s Division I National Player of the Week on Oct. 29 and was most recently named a semifinalist for the AVCA’s Division I National Player of the Year Award on Nov. 14.
