Warriors Fall to SFU on the Road

Merrimack College women’s volleyball hit the road for a match in Pennsylvania against the Saint Francis University Red Flash. Despite a strong performance, including an impressive comeback push in the first set, the Warriors fell to the Red Flash 3-0. Sydney Green led the Warriors again tonight, with six kills

Notes and Notables:

  • Warriors got off to a slow start, at one point being down 12-2, but were able to stick with SFU going an equal 13-13 for the remainder of the set. Sydney Green led the Warriors in the set with two kills.
  • The Warriors brought the momentum they found late in the first with them into this set, taking advantage of mistakes made by the opponent. Sydney Green and Brooke Leestma had two kills each.
  • Merrimack again had a solid start to the set, matching SFU until about halfway, when the Red Flash made a push to the finish that the Warriors could not overcome. Along the way, they were again aided by SFU mistakes, but Sydney Green and Maalese Wallace added two more kills each.

Next up, the Warriors will remain on the road as they head over to New Jersey for a match against Fairleigh Dickenson on Saturday, October 30 at 4:00 pm.
