WCC Releases Preseason Team and Coaches Poll

Pullman, Wash. (Aug. 23, 2024) – Washington State Volleyball was picked to finish sixth in the West Coast Conference (WCC) while senior Katy Ryan was named to the WCC Preseason Team, the league announced Friday morning.

The Cougars’ starting opposite hitter for the past three seasons, Ryan is also a three-time CSC Academic All-District honoree. Ryan, the WSU Student Athlete of the Month last October, is an Elementary Education major who averaged 2.27 kills/set while hitting .279 during her junior season. A former Pac-12 All-Freshman selection, Ryan earned honorable mention all-conference honors in 2023 season and had 13 matches with double-digit kills.

Last week the Cougs received votes in the 2024 AVCA National Preseason Poll ahead of new Head Coach Korey Schroeder‘s first season at the helm.

Washington State is set to open its 2024 season next weekend on Friday, August 30 against Wyoming at the Omaha Invite in Nebraska before returning to Pullman for its home opener on Friday, Sept. 6 against Eastern Washington.
