The Tennessee Lady Vols continue their four-match road swing this weekend, heading south to face Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
The Big Orange (8-4, 1-1 SEC) opens play against the Rebels (10-3, 0-1 SEC) this Friday in the Gillom Center at 7:30 p.m. ET. Then, Tennessee rounds out the weekend with a Sunday afternoon matchup in Newell-Grissom Building to face the Bulldogs (7-3, 1-0 SEC) at 3 p.m. ET. Both matches will be streamed on SEC Network+.
The Lady Vols will look to rebound following a 3-1 loss on Sunday to the hands of the Oklahoma Sooners. Ole Miss also enters the contest on the heels of defeat, dropping its match against Arkansas. The Bulldogs enter the weekend riding a six-match win streak.
Tennessee’s offense has been led by the trio of graduate outside hitter Nina Cajic, junior middle blocker Keondreya Granberry and redshirt sophomore setter Caroline Kerr. Cajic ranks eighth nationally and second in the SEC in kills per set at 4.68, and she’s the only player in the conference to boast two 30-plus kill efforts this year.
Granberry has been a force on UT’s defense for years, but now, she’s enjoying a breakout season on the offensive end. She’s the national leader in hitting percentage at .512, and she ranks second on the team in kills with 104. Guiding the offense is Kerr, who was tabbed to the AVCA’s National Player of the Year watch list. She’s averaging 10.53 assists per set, which ranks 18th in the country and third in the conference.
Following this weekend, the Big Orange concludes its road streak with a contest at Missouri next Sunday. First serve for that match will be at 3 p.m. ET and can be streamed on SEC Network+.
