TEMPE, Ariz.- The Arizona Beach Volleyball lost a close match against in-state rival No. 6-seeded ASU, ending their run at the Pac-12 Tournament.
The Sand Cats dropped to the Sun Devils in a 0-3 loss at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, with matches at No. 2 and No. 4 going unfinished after ASU clinched the winning point.
Arizona’s Abby Russell/Olivia McElroy fell just short against ASU’s pair in the afternoon. The pair went 1-2 at the tournament and are 18-15 (.545) on the season.
Grace Cook/Kylee Fitzsimmons battled at No. 3 against ASU’s pair but ultimately dropped two close sets to the Sun Devils’ pair. Cook and Fitzsimmons went 0-1 at the tournament and are 12-9 (.571) as a pair this season.
Arizona’s Miranda Erro/Ashlyn Zilliken put up a great fight against the Sun Devils at No. 4, ultimately falling short in two close sets. The pair went 1-1 at the tournament, putting their season record at 16-13 (.552)
LOOKING AHEAD
The Wildcats remain in the running for the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Selection Show is Sunday, April 28 at 8:00 a.m.
