Wildcats Sweep Beavers for First Pac-12 Win

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Arizona took down Oregon State in three sets, 25-21, 25-16, 25-22, on Friday night in Corvallis to improve to 11-3 (1-2 Pac-12).
 
Jaelyn Hodge led Arizona’s attack with 12 kills and Puk Stubbe followed with nine kills. Arizona had seven total blocks, with Zyonna Fellows and Emery Herman tallying four blocks each. The Wildcats’ defense held the Beavers to a .159 hitting percentage.
 
Arizona won the first set 25-21. Fellows led the way with five kills and a .571 clip. The Wildcats limited the Beavers to a .200 hitting percentage.
 
The Wildcats took a two-set lead with a 25-16 win in Set 2. Arizona had four blocks to hold Oregon State to a .083 hitting percentage. Hodge knocked down five kills while hitting .357 and Herman tallied three blocks to help Arizona to a dominant 25-16 win.  
 
After falling to an 0-4 start to begin the set, Arizona came back with a late 6-0 run to win 25-22 and sweep the match. Puk Stubbe found her rhythm in the third set, recording five kills and a block. Fellows tallied three kills and two blocks.
 
Arizona will face Oregon in Eugene on Sunday, October 1 at 12 p.m. MST to close out the Wildcats’ three-game road trip.
