Wildcats Sweep Mountaineers – University of Arizona Athletics

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Arizona swept West Virginia (25-18, 25-22, 25-17) on Sunday afternoon to win its third straight Big 12 match.      
 
Jordan Wilson and Jaelyn Hodge led the Cats with double-digit kills and Arizona served six aces to take down the Mountaineers. Wilson had 13 kills and hit .393 while Hodge had 12 kills and a .333 clip. Arizona’s defense had seven kills to hold WVU to a .175 hitting percentage.
 
The Cats took the first set, 25-18. After WVU won the first point, Arizona went on an 8-0 run to take an early lead and held the lead the rest of the set. Hodge and Wilson both had six kills and hit above .450 to lead the attack. The Cats served three aces and the defense held the Mountaineers to a .243 hitting percentage.
 
Arizona won the second set, 25-22, to take a 2-0 lead. Although WVU out-hit Arizona, the Cats had more kills and served two aces to win the second set. Kiari Robey led the offense with five kills while Hodge and Wilson added three kills each. After starting the set with both teams trading points, the Cats jumped to a 14-7 lead and the Mountaineers never caught up.
 
The Wildcats won the third set, 25-22, to win the match. Arizona used a 6-1 run to jump to an 11-point lead. Arizona’s defense had five blocks – led by Robey with three blocks – to hold WVU to a .000 hitting percentage. Wilson led the attack with four kills and Hodge had three kills, including…
