Women's Volleyball Announces Addition of Jelena Prolic

PHILADELPHIA –  Temple women’s volleyball head coach Linda Hampton-Keith has announced the signing of transfer Jelena Prolic for the upcoming 2022 season.

Prolic comes to Temple after a three-year stay at Coastal Carolina, where she played in 73 matches over the last three seasons for the Chanticleers.

“The Owls will benefit greatly adding Jelena to our team.  Not only is she a great leader but she brings a wealth of experience on the court that will lift our level of play instantly.  Her international experience paired with her Division I resume up to this point will elevate Temple volleyball and our ability to compete consistently in this challenging conference. ” added Hampton-Keith. “Her passing and hitting abilities are elite and her knowledge of the game will enhance our gym and improve our volleyball efficacy immediately.  We can’t wait for Jelena to be an Owl!”

Last season, Prolic played in all 28 matches for the Chanticleers, where she tallied 57 kills, 71 digs, and 10 blocks. The Subotica, Serbia native matched her career match-highs in kills and digs in 2021. Against Louisiana on Oct. 17, Prolic marked the second time she accumulated 13 kills in a match during her three Chant career. In the same match, she picked up eight digs. A milestone she’s achieved three times previously in a Coastal uniform.

In 2020, the veteran outside hitter had her most prolific year as a collegiate volleyball player. She helped the Chanticleers to a school-record 19 straight victories to begin the season before being knocked off in the Sun Belt Conference Championship match. Prolic played in all 19 of the 20 Chanticleer matches, eclipsing the century mark in kills for the only time in her career. Alongside the kills, she ended the season with 85 digs and 19 blocks.

In her first season in the teal and bronze uniform, Prolic played in a career-high 28 matches and 74 sets in 2019. The Serbian native accumulated 19 kills, 13 aces, 41 digs, and seven blocks.

Prolic has been a tremendous student in the classroom at CCU, where she’s reached academic success. Named to the 2019 Coastal Carolina Fall President’s list for student-athletes with 4.0-grade point averages, she also earned a spot on the Dean’s List on multiple occasions for a 3.5 or higher GPA.
