DURHAM, NH – The Merrimack College Women’s Volleyball team dropped their mid-week road match to the University of New Hampshire despite a late effort in the third set.

Records: Merrimack (1-10, 0-0), UNH (7-6, 0-0)
How It Happened
The Wildcats struck first going up 5-1 in the first set, however the Warriors would tie the score 15-15 with a run of kills delivered by Morgan Thurlow. Ultimately, the Wildcats were able to pull away late to win the first set 25-20. UNH would continue that momentum in the second set as they captured a 25-16 lead over the Warriors. Merrimack saw its largest lead of the night in the third set as the Warriors took a 17-12 edge over the Wildcats. The Hannah Webber – Julz Carlat tandem helped Merrimack to a third set victory, 25-21. The Warriors would look to tie the score in the fourth set, however the Wildcat’s had different plans. UNH took a 10 point jump on Merrimack which was ultimately to tough to come back from. The Warriors would lose the fourth set 25-18.

The Warriors return home for the first MAAC conference match-up against Saint Peter’s University on Saturday September 28. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
