EASTON, MASS. – The Merrimack College women’s volleyball team defeated Stonehill College on Friday night for its first Northeast Conference (NEC) win of the season. Cate Wright led the Warriors in kills and aces with 16 and four. Mia Ardila ranked first in assists with 43 on the night.

- With the scored tied at five in the first set, the Skyhawks scored four of the next five points to go up by three. Merrimack then added two points after a Julz Carlat kill. Stonehill then jumped out to a seven-point lead Sydney Green had a kill to put the Warriors down four. Wright had a kill a couple point later to put Merrimack down just one. The Skyhawks then battled back, winning the set by two points.
- In the second set, both teams battled to a seven all tie. Merrimack then went on a five-point run, highlighted by three kills from Wright. Stonehill cut the advantage down to three. The Warriors then went on a four-point run, capped off with a kill from Maalese Wallace. Merrimack then scored five of the last six points to tie the match at one.
- The Warriors jumped out to a quick seven-point lead in the third set. The Skyhawks then found themselves down nine late in the third set. Avery Brown had a kill to put Merrimack up by 10. The Warriors scored the last two points, winning the set and taking a 2-1 lead.
