Women’s Volleyball Falls to Bucknell Despite Late Push

VESTAL, NY- The Merrimack College Women’s Volleyball team lost in three straight sets despite a late effort in the third set to the Bucknell Bison in the second game of the Binghamton Invitational.

Score: Bucknell 3, Merrimack 0

Records: Bucknell (1-1), Merrimack (0-2)

 

How it Happened

In the first set, it was neck and neck for the first couple of points. But shortly after, Bucknell took it in stride and went on to win the set by a score of 25-12. The second set was more competitive, and the Warriors were hanging with the Bison right down the stretch. The two teams were tied 14-14 in the set at one point, but Bucknell took it all the way and won set 2 by a score of 25-18. The Warriors came out strong in the third set, with their biggest lead being 11-6. This entourage was led by a slew of kills courtesy of Hannah Webber in the front of the net. The Warriors showed perseverance throughout the set, setting the tone with the early lead. However, Bucknell managed to come all the way back to win the last set 25-18.
