Women’s Volleyball Falls to Sacred Heart

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College women’s volleyball team lost a Northeast Conference (NEC) matchup on Friday night against Sacred Heart University.

Rapid Recap

  • Sacred Heart jumped out to a four-point advantage. A kill by Cate Wright ended the run. The Pioneers then went up by seven. The Warriors battled back to cut the lead to five after a Wright kill. Sacred Heart then went on a four-point run later in the set to go up by nine. Sydney Green had a kill to stop the run. The Pioneers scored the last five points to win the set.
  • The Warriors found themselves down by five early on in the second set. Sacred Heart then scored eight straight points to go up 14. Green had a kill late in the set, but it was not enough, the Pioneers took set two.
  • Merrimack went up by two early in the third set. Sacred Heart grabbed the lead back. Merrimack found themselves down by two for a number of points, trading back-and-forth with the Pioneers. Sacred Heart then went on a five-point run to go up by eight. The Warriors then added three points of their own to cut it to five. Sacred Heart scored the last two points of the set to win.
