BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Merrimack College women’s volleyball team split its two matches on Saturday. Beating Saint Peter’s University and losing to Duquesne University.

Both teams battled back and forth for the first 14 points. Saint Peter’s then took a two point lead. A few points later the Warriors battled back, scoring four straight points to tie the set at 15. After a Cate Wright kill, Merrimack was down just one. Saint Peter’s would pull away, winning the first set by five.
The Warriors jumped out to a quick three point lead, off of two straight kills from Julz Carlat. The Warriors would maintain the lead later in the set, finding themselves up nine. Saint Peter’s battled back to pull within three. A kill by Hannah Webber gave Merrimack a four-point advantage. The Warriors would tie the match, winning by five.
Merrimack went up four early on in the third set. Saint Peter’s would tie the game at seven. The Warriors would then add five straight points to go up by four. Merrimack would finish the third set, scoring seven of the last 10 points to go up two sets to one.
