In the 26th round of the PlusLiga volleyball league, Jastrzębski Węgiel emerged victorious against Projekt Warszawa with a 3-0 win. This significant match, held at Jastrzębski’s home court, saw the hosts solidify their lead at the top of the table, now eight points ahead of Projekt Warszawa, which has played one less game.
Leading the scoring for Jastrzębski Węgiel were Rafał Szymura with 14 points, followed closely by Norbert Huber with 13, Ryan Sclater with 12, and Tomasz Fornal contributing 11 points. Projekt Warszawa’s top scorers, Bartłomiej Bołądź and Artur Szalpuk, each notched 14 points. Szymura, apart from leading in points, also earned the MVP title for his remarkable performance, achieving a 61% attack success rate with 11 successful hits out of 18 attempts, alongside 2 aces and 1 block.
The match scores of 25-23 in all three sets underscored a closely contested battle, yet Jastrzębski Węgiel managed to maintain the upper hand throughout, securing a clean sweep victory.
