World ParaVolley has announced the teams that are officially invited to participate in the 2022 Sitting Volleyball World Championships to be held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina 4 to 11 November 2022.
This system completely replaces the original invitations and slot allocation that was based on the event occurring planned for China last month that was later allocated to BIH., due to Covid-19 protocols. The WPV Technical Commission decided unanimously to completely restart the slot allocation process based on the original approved criteria, given that there are new dates and a new host country. These two new factors, and others, mean that some teams would be less likely to participate and other teams perhaps more likely to participate. In fairness to all teams, the qualification process itself has remained the same.
Teams will be asked to confirm their participation urgently and any unused slots, up to a maximum of 16 slots per gender, will be determined by rankings as previously to ensure a top-level competition.
