National champion Juniata and runner-up Trinity (Texas) are the top two teams in the final AVCA poll of the season. Rounding out the top five are No. 3 Northwestern, No. 4 NYU and No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Juniata (34-1) received 89 of 90 first place votes while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (30-1) got one.
Other Region VIII and Region IX teams in the final top 25: No. 7 Transylvania; No. 11 Wisconsin-Whitewater; No. 14 Washington-St. Louis; No. 15 Wisconsin-Oshkosh; No. 16 Gustavus Adolphus; No. 18 Wisconsin-Stevens Point; No. 25 Coe.
Region VIII/IX teams receiving votes in the final poll: Wisconsin-Eau Claire; Chicago; Millikin; Cornell; Augsburg; North Park.
My final top of the 2022 season had Washington-St. Louis and Johns Hopkins instead of the AVCA’s MIT and Berry.
