2022 AVCA preseason poll: Champs on top

Wisconsin-Eau Claire is the top team in the 2022 AVCA preseason poll. The defending champion Blugolds are followed in the poll by No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, No. 3 Calvin, No. 4 Juniata and No. 5 Trinity (Texas).

Rounding out the preseason top 10 are No. 6 Berry, No. 7 NYU, No. 8 Emory, No. 9 Johns Hopkins and Hope.

Other Region VIII and IX teams in the preseason top 25: No. 12 Wartburg; No. 15 Northwestern; No. 16 Wisconsin-Whitewater; No. 19 Gustavus Adolphus; No. 20 Bethel; No. 24 Transylvania; No. 25 Chicago.

Region VIII/IX programs receiving votes in the preseason: Aurora; Wisconsin-Stevens Point; Wisconsin-Oshkosh; Cornell; Carthage; Augsburg; Coe; Wisconsin-La Crosse.

My 2022 preseason top 10 and the AVCA had mostly the same teams. I had Northwestern, MIT and Otterbein instead of Emory, Johns Hopkins and Hope.
