Nine student-athletes who made their Saint Michael’s debuts – including eight college rookies – dotted a youthful roster last year … 11 returners are back for a more veteran team this fall … four of the top five in kills and each of the top three in digs and blocks return in 2022 … with five 6-footers, this is believed to be the tallest roster in program history.

KEY DATES
Saint Michael’s begins the season with back-to-back tournaments in the upcoming two weeks, starting at Saint Anselm College and Southern New Hampshire University’s jointly-hosted invitational this Saturday and Sunday … the Purple and Gold kicks off the 2022 campaign at Saint Anselm, which was ninth in the final 2021 NCAA regional rankings … on Sept. 2-3, the Purple Knights are at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh’s Cardinal Classic, and square off with two teams – Plymouth State University and the United States Coast Guard Academy – that were ranked in the final NCAA Division III regional polls last fall … Saint Michael’s hosts 2021 NCAA Division III Tournament qualifier Middlebury College for its home opener on Sept. 6 … after visiting Bentley University, which competed in the NCAA Division II Tournament last year, on Oct. 1, the Purple Knights take on three consecutive NCAA qualifiers – American International College (Oct. 29), Southern Connecticut State University (Nov. 4) and the University of New Haven (Nov. 5) – to complete the regular season … the top eight teams in the final regular-season standings qualify for the NE10 Championship, which begins on Nov. 10.
