ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — The No. 4 seed Lewis University women’s volleyball team will travel to East Peoria, Illinois for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Quarterfinals to take on No. 5 seed Missouri S&T Thursday at 2:30 p.m. CT. The winner of this contest will take on the (1) Quincy/(8) Maryville Friday at 2:30 p.m. CT.
The Flyers currently have a 19-8 record this season and a 8-4 mark in the GLVC, which made them finish four in the conference. Lewis is led by Bella Ray (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic), who has 307 kills with a .287 attack percentage and 132 total blocks which currently leads the GLVC.
Juliana Van Loo (Burbank, Calif./John Burroughs) has also had a big season for Lewis as the junior has recorded 271 kills on a .292 hitting percentage. Megan Schlechte (Strasburg, Ill./Stewardson-Strasburg) has recorded 267 kills.
Lauren Stenman (Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) has 833 total assists for the season and her 9.80 assists per set ranks third in the GLVC. Andrea Zeiser (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) leads the team with 480 digs.
Missouri S&T currently owns a 16-8 record and also a 8-4 mark in the GLVC this season. The Miners are led by Jordan Burton, who has recorded 283 kills on the season.
These two teams met back at Lewis on Saturday, October 29 with Lewis being victorious 3-1.
