69 Union Student-Athletes Named to Fall All-Academic Teams

TROY, N.Y. – Sixty-nine Union College student-athletes were recognized for their academic prowess by earning spots on the Liberty League Fall All-Academic Teams, the conference announced on Thursday morning.
 
The Liberty League’s fall championship sports include men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.

Over 53 percent (37 of 69) of Union’s honorees are repeat selections to the All-Academic Team, while almost 25 percent (17 of 69) were selected for the usual maximum third straight season and two – football fifth-years Aidan Donnelly and Harry Forsythe – were honored for the fourth time after all athletes received an extra year of eligibility due to COVID-19. The football team led all fall sports with 20 selections, followed by the women’s soccer team with 15 selections.
