PENASCOLA, Fla. – The No. 17 Lewis University women’s volleyball team won both matches during day two of the UWF Walk On’s Invitational Saturday. The Flyers defeated UNC-Pembroke in straight sets, 30-28, 25-18, 25-17; then upset the No. 8 team in the country University of West Florida in four sets on their home floor, 28-26, 18-25, 25-18, 25-22.

FIRST SET: #17 Lewis 30, UNC-Pembroke 28
- Lewis went up 9-6 early in the first before the Braves came back and took a quick glance 12-11 lead.
- The Flyers rallied for four points in a row thanks to a service ace by Van Loo to put them ahead 15-12.
- UNC-Pembroke would not give in as the Braves scored seven out of the next eight points to go up 19-16.
- Lewis was at set point after Ray and Stenman recorded a block at 25-24 but both teams would go back and forth.
- The Braves had set point at 28-27 but Lewis was able to rally for three straight points to take the first set 30-28.
