CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After a 3-0 weekend for the Carolina volleyball team at the VCU Invitational, freshman libero Maddy May has earned ACC Freshman of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday. It is the second weekly honor in a row for May.
May tallied a combined team-best 50 digs in Carolina’s three victories, recording back-to-back 18 dig matches vs. Old Dominion and VCU on Sep. 16, before tallying 14 vs. UMBC on Sep. 17.
The Winterville, N.C. native, also had four service aces against the Monarchs and averaged a team-best 5 digs per set on the weekend.
